Inspiring students with language-based learning difficulties and characteristics of Dyslexia to celebrate their strengths and overcome struggles.

A TUITION-FREE PUBLIC SCHOOL OF CHOICE

ALLIES serves students in second through fifth grade. Our staff is dedicated to helping struggling readers weighed down by their learning differences.

A PROVEN TRACK RECORD OF SUCCESS

The Literacy Excellence Program, also known as “LEx”, was launched at Odyssey Elementary School in 2014 to support students with characteristics of Dyslexia. ALLIES’ goal is to replicate these successful processes in an outstanding school fully dedicated to Take Flight Language Therapy and accommodations in all classrooms.

2014-15 School Year - Year 1 of the LEx program at Odyssey Elementary School 2015-16 School Year - Year 2 LEx program and review of results
2016-17 School Year - Data analysis completed and reveals uncharacteristically high growth comparisons and progress towards proficiency across multiple assessments.

EXPERIENCED STAFF WALK ALONGSIDE YOUR CHILD

CALT
ALLIES professors come to us with additional training and understanding in the field of Dyslexia, and the knowledge and desire to implement a variety of accommodations for our students. We are trained in the use of accommodations for Dyslexia, Dysgraphia, Dyscalculia, ADD/ADHD, and the many challenges that come with each.

ALLIES professors and Certified Academic Language Therapists (CALTs) have extensive experience and have taught students with characteristics of Dyslexia for many years. Their experience in this special field ranges from two to thirty years!

Is ALLIES A Good Candidate for Your Child?

  • Is your bright child struggling in school?
  • Is your student’s reading slow, choppy, or inaccurate?
  • Is your student’s spelling a mess?
  • Is he/she beginning to dislike school, or coming up with ways to avoid it?
  • Does your student’s teacher report they are behind or need extra help?
  • Are your student’s math facts a nightmare for them to remember?

If any of these scenarios are happening to your child, we stand by ready to be ALLIES in your child’s learning.

What makes ALLIES Unique?

  • All school staff are trained and experienced in supporting students with Dyslexia and all of its coexisting conditions.
  • The most successful 3-year Orton-Gillingham Language Therapy remediation program [Take Flight Language Therapy] is considered the Cadillac of programs.
    • NOT an intervention: SPIRE, SIPPS, 95% Group, etc.
  • Taught by a trained CALT (Certified Academic Language Therapist) rather than an interventionist.
  • Friends and comrades who understand what they are going through and can support them and cheer them on.
  • Small class sizes that give individualized attention to specific needs.
  • Embedded accommodations in EVERY class and students leave with a 504 Accommodation Plan to set them up for success through 12th grade and beyond.
  • Staff that teach using the Growth Mindset philosophy to set them up to be a successful student and citizen for life.
